How to Donate

Donations of the following are always accepted but, your credit card or cash donation enables us to purchase these necessities locally for the children.   The high cost of shipping and customs duties severely limits the number of goods we are able to send from the US:

  • Clothes & Shoes
  • Soap, toothpaste and other sanitary items
  • Textbooks
  • Paper, pen’s, pencils, chalk

  • ​Backpacks

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

With the financial support of our donors, Malayika is able to enroll students in local schools.  Our Rescue Mission (founded in 2013) plays a critical role in providing tuition, school supplies, uniforms, food and medicines for poor children, most of whom are orphans. Malayika works with Bunyonyi Primary School, Gold Star Junior School, St. Andrews Primary School and six secondary schools to handle the educational needs of these children. 

PIGLETS

Often we can only help one child in a family and the parents still struggle with their other children.  We started the Malayika Peace Project and bought seven piglets. As the piglets grow into adults and started producing more piglets we are able to help more families.  Every time new piglets are born; we give them to other families in the community.  They start raising pigs and selling them to feed their families and possible enroll their other childerend in school.

SOLE HOPE

Ms. Sharon Cox and members of the Mid-Cities Pacesetters Rotary Club, introduced  Sole Hope  to Malayika Rescue Missions.  Trinity High School and L.D Bell High School Interact Clubs helped in collecting used jeans that are used to make shoes. The Pacesetters members then got together and did the pattern cutting for the shoes. Then the pattern cut parts were sent to Uganda to be sown. Malayika Rescue Mission kids were trained on how to keep their feet clean, jiggers removed and were given the new shoes. For most, this was their first pair of shoes ever.

PROVIDE SCHOOL SUPPLIES

The backpacks were donated by Community Enrichment Center of North Richland Hills.  They were left over from their back to school program where they donate school supplies to underprivileged kids in Northeast Tarrant County.  These were the first school bags the kids have ever had and were extremely excited to receive them.

PROVIDE MEALS

“Malayika Peace Project” provides meals for the children so they can concentrate on studies rather than on hunger.  They provide breakfast and lunch for those children that don’t have enough to eat at home.
